Graduated from Concordia College in 1970 with BA in Math. Moved to AZ, worked for Arizona Public Service Co. for 17 years. Had 3 children with first husband. Divorced. Met and married Don and had 2 more children. Don's job took us to the Pacific Northwest in 1987.
If I had forecasted in 1966 what my "life" would look like - it wouldn't even be close to what it actually has been although I did want lots of children (that part became a reality!!)
After 4 years of a Christian high school and 4 years of a Christian college, one might think I was a Christian!! Guess I missed the part about having a personal relationship with Jesus. Anyway, approximately 20 years ago, Don and I committed our lives to the Lord. And boy, did things ever change.
He doesn't promise us a life without trials and we've certainly had our share. All (yes, all 6) of our children are alcoholic/addicts. What a struggle that has been!! Toby also suffered from paranoid schizophrenia and took his own life in 2001. Jeremy died from heroin use in 2007. We are confident that both are in the presence of Jesus. We also have been given some joy back with the miracle birth of Kim's son Jeremy.
Our remaining 4 children are today - clean & sober! I really understand the "one day at a time" concept...
So, in a nutshell - my life has not been boring!!!!!!! :-) We're looking forward to some boring, PEACEFUL times in our old age.
